Thomas Jefferson School of Law offers a Masters of Science of Law (M.S.L) degree program for non-lawyers who seek to obtain a basic familiarity with legal business, finance and tax principles. It designed for those who do not intend to practice law, but rather seek a rigorous curriculum and grounding in legal studies to advance their own personal knowledge and enhance their professional portfolio.

Degree Requirement

Students must complete 30 units to graduate. The program is expected to take one to two years to complete.

Entrance Requirement

Candidates for the degree of Masters of Science of Law (M.S.L.) must hold a prior degree from an accredited institution in business, accounting, finance, economics, or another business-related field, or an equivalent amount of experience in the field to be eligible for admission to the M.S.L. program.

  • Statement of Interest
  • Resume / CV
  • One letter of Recommendation
  • English Competency Test Score (TOFEL / IELTS) – requirement waived if you received a degree from a program where English was the official language
  • Evaluated Transcript – transcripts must be translated to English and evaluated for U.S. grade equivalency.
